The event is hosted by a shop called “Bookworm. For Children and Parents” at No 5 Balkanskaya Sq. and will start at 17:00 on 12 March. The book presentation will end with an opening of a show of Soviet-era school paraphernalia.

Russia's first Hockey Museum and the Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko have announced their association. As part of their joint activities, the Hockey Museum and the Timchenko Foundation have planned a number of joint events for the next few months. Among the earliest ones are: Russia's only Tough Girls Hockey tournament for girl teams in 2017, which will take place between 6 and 8 March in Strelna, St Petersburg, and a tournament to mark Submariner Day in the town of Polarny, Murmansk Oblast, 19 March.

Hockey player Vladimir Petrov dies in his 70th year
28 February the Russian and global ice hockey community suffered an irreplaceable loss. Death claimed Vladimir Vladimirovich Petrov, 69, a national ice hockey legend, two-time Olympic champion, multiple world and European champion and eleven-time champion of the USSR.

Golden Mask: Moscow to host spring marathon of best theatrical productions from little towns with support from Timchenko Foundation
The Golden Mask theatre festival opens its out-of-competition strand titled Mask Plus. 1 and 4 March the Meyerhold Theatre and Culture Centre will lend its stage to two town theatres for performances sponsored by the Timchenko Foundation. The audiences will see shows that are not on the bill of the main competition but that have made it to the final. The project enables the festival to reach further afield and gives young budding directors and actors a chance to get off the mark on the big stage and compare notes with their colleagues from metropolitan theatres.

Children's tournaments outdoors in and around Moscow in February.
Winter is drawing to a close, but children's ice hockey tournaments, held by the Moscow Sports Veterans foundation with support from the Timchenko Foundation, are still in full swing at outdoor venues. No sooner the tournament for prizes from Olympic champion Yuri Blinov has ended than it is the turn of matches in the tournament for prizes from World and European Champion Alexander Volchkov.

Between 13 and 18 March 2017, on the premises of the ice hockey theory and methodology department of the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, the Ice Hockey Academy will, with support from the Timchenko Foundation, hold a refresher course for children's amateur coaches and DYuSSh [Junior Sports School (JSS)] and SDYuShOR [Junior Olympic Reserve Sports School (JORSS)] coaches as part of a programme entitled Theory and Methodology for Training Young Hockey Players. Capital to host Moscow Wushu Stars tournament for second consecutive year with support from Timchenko Foundation

Between 17 and 22 February 2017, Moscow will host the third international tournament Moscow Wushu Stars 2017 with support from the Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko. The competition is organized by the Russian Wushu Federation and Moscow City Wushu Federation with support from the Department of Sports and Tourism of the City of Moscow. The venue will be provided by the world's only dedicated facility built exclusively to house wushu classes and competitions - the Moscow Wushu Palace (No.30 Ul. Khersonskaya, k. [blk]2/1, Moscow).

Between 7 and 9 February 2017 the Faith, Hope and Charity Fostering Centre in Moscow — winner of the Family Fairway Russian National Project Competition of the Timchenko Foundation will provide a venue for a training event called “Special Needs Child Orphanhood Prevention Tools: Biological and Foster Family Involvement”.
