Winners named in 3rd Cultural Mosaic of Towns and Villages all-Russian competition
The 3rd Cultural Mosaic of Towns and Villages all-Russian competition was won in 2017 by 58 projects from 38 RF states. The Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko will allocate 32.2 mln roubles to fund sociocultural initiatives aimed at involving the local communities in the transformation of their homeland; after all, it is they who are the main driver of positive change in Russian towns and villages.

The 48th final of the White Rook Russian open national chess competitions for school teams has ended in Dagomys. The final has been an international event since 2015. The tournament was joined by some 100 teams from 80 Russian states and 17 countries. Apart from schoolchildren from Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, China, Latvia, Moldova, Mongolia and Estonia, the White Rook final has for the first time featured teams from the UK, Bulgaria, Greece, India, Poland, Rumania and Slovakia.
