All entries in for the Family Circle competition designed to promote and support sustainable social practices in elder care in the family and local community. The winners will be named 7 October.
A total of 395 entries were submitted from 8 federal districts, including 42 entries from action groups and 353 from legal entities. The greatest number of submissions were from the Volgian (119), Central (88), Siberian (61) and Northwest (56) Federal Districts.
The competition’s grant fund is 10 million roubles; the maximum grant is 150 thousand roubles.
The winners will receive funds to continue and grow their practices – an opportunity to train their employees, strengthen the organization and extend the practices to reach more people or new areas. Sustainable and potentially scalable practices will form the backbone of a system that will link the providers of social and medical care for the elderly.
Family care is an approach that enables older people to continue living at home with the necessary assistance and support from relatives, neighbours, volunteers and the local community. Assistance can take any form – from house cleaning and grocery shopping to counselling and classes on the prevention of cognitive disorders.
