The town of Krasnokamsk, which is in Perm Krai, is hosting a Golden Mask festival. 3 and 4 September the Goznak [National Mint] palace of culture was used for performances by the Russian Academic Youth Theatre (RAYT).
On Sunday, 3 September, actors from Moscow performed on the stage of the palace of culture a children’s show titled “Fairy Tales for All Eventualities” directed by Vladimir Bogatyrev. On Monday the Krasnokamsk residents were offered a varied programme. In the afternoon, upper formers from the town’s children’s theatre school could attend a eurythmics masterclass by Vladimir Malyugin, a GITIS [the Lunacharsky State Institute for Theatre Arts, now The Russian University of Theatre Arts] teacher, actor, circus eurythmics director and the founder of the School of Dexterity Moscow studio. The Golden Mask brought its visit to Krasnokamsk to a close with the show “On the Road”. The RAYT actors also performed it at the Goznak PC, which was nearly sold out. In the audience were Galina Yuryevna Kokoulina, Minister for Culture, Perm Krai, and Maria Morozova, CEO of the Charitable Foundation of Ylena and Gennady Timchenko. The Golden Mask’s Krasnokamsk tour was sponsored by the Foundation. As part of its affiliation with the festival, the Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko sponsors tours of town theatres, as well as performances of the best provincial shows. In 2017, two out of the three shows sponsored by the Foundation were awarded the Golden Mask. The Award for Best Costume Design went to Elena Solovyova, who had worked on the show “Ship of Fools” by the Gran theatre studio from the city of Novokuibyshevsk, Samara Oblast. The second mask for best supporting actor went to the town of Sharypovo, Krasnoyarsk Krai.
