Russia to have 5 more studies into prevention and mitigation of social orphanhood

Last week saw the winners announced of the competition called “Application and evaluation research involving children and young adults in the area of prevention and mitigation of social orphanhood”, organized by the Moscow State University of Psychology and Pedagogy as requested by the Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko.

We offer our compliments to all those who showed an interest in this challenging subject and joined the open competition, and particularly the 5 winning teams, who will be able to implement their research projects with support from the Timchenko Foundation.

 And the names of the winners are.

  1. Big Brothers, Big Sisters inter-regional NGO for facilitating the younger generation nurture programme (Moscow)
  1. Children of Ours Charitable Foundation (Moscow/Smolensk Oblast)

The winning teams will be given financial and expert assistance in implementing the research projects submitted to the competition.

The purpose of the competition is to develop a methodology for and promote the practices of application and evaluation research involving children and young adults in the area of prevention of social orphanhood, mitigation of social orphanhood and improvement of well-being of children and young adults. That is why among the competition prequalification criteria was the application of a methodology calling for the involvement of children in the research.

We wish the winners further successes and achievements and are looking forward to their research findings!
