Between 31 January and 2 February, the Kulakova SOLK [sports and leisure ski centre (SLSC)] in Izhevsk hosted a 3-day crash course for sports executives and administrators.
The course aimed to improve the professional competencies of the attendees for purposes of the republic’s sport industry and the quality of its sports events.
The School was attended by more than 140 people, such as the management and staff of sports schools and state sports federations, NGOs promoting sporting events, community organizers of large-scale fitness events, as well as members of the sports administrations from municipal districts of Udmurtia.
The School programme included lectures, practicals, a strategic session and individual tasks, with a total duration of 26 academic hours. The attendees and speakers reviewed the role of sports event manager, modern trends in the organization of sports events, basic fundraising, sports marketing and teamwork.
After the on-campus stage of the Sports Management School, the participants are to move on to an off-campus section: developing their corporate strategy for 2020, writing a content plan and a description of their events in terms of project management.
The event was organized by the Ministry for Physical Education, Sports and Youth Affairs of UR [Udmurt Republic], the Charitable Foundation of Еlena and Gennady Timchenko, Soobshchestvo [Community] Foundation, Kalashnikov-sport OOO, Tsentr [Centre] Media Group, Ostrova [Islands] corporate group and the Arena sports coworking space.
