Ninth Good Ice kicks off

The first of April is the start of   Good Ice, a competition to support children’s ice hockey promotion initiatives, organized by the Sports Studies Academy Not-for-Profit Association sponsored by the Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko.

The competition is designed to promote children’s hockey in towns and rural areas, support enthusiasts united by the idea of promoting hockey and making sports available to disadvantaged or at-risk children and those from single-parent or large families, as well as promote hockey for girls.

It is open to officially registered non-profits in Russia, as well as local government agencies. The winners will be awarded funding up to 1,500,000 roubles.

Entries are solicited from St Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Vologda Oblast, Kaliningrad Oblast, Murmansk Oblast, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Novgorod Oblast, Pskov Oblast, Republic of Karelia, Komi Republic, Kirov Oblast, Nizhny-Novgorod Oblast, Perm Krai, Republic of Mordovia, Republic of Tatarstan, Udmurtian Republic, Chuvash Republic, Amur Oblast, Zabaykalsky Krai, Primorsky Krai, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Khabarovsk Krai, Irkutsk Oblast and Altai Republic.

The competition accepts entries from 1 April to 5 May 2021. The results will be published by 1 June 2021 on the websites of the Good Ice programme and the Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko.
